Dear RDFIS Families and Employees,

亲爱的各位家长朋友、教职工同事们，

School is well underway. The students have settled into their classes. They have received their books and binders. Teaching and learning has commenced!

学校已经开学，一切运行良好。同学们在班上安顿了下来，逐渐适应课堂节奏。他们已经拿到新教材和学习文件夹。瑞得福国际学校教学工作稳步开启。

After the summer vacation, the teachers are delighted to have the chance to mingle with the students again in the classrooms, common areas, canteens, and courts.

暑假过后，老师们很高兴能再次在教室、公共区域、食堂和运动场与同学们见面交流。

I enjoyed visiting the evening study rooms this week to observe the students. The students are hard at work on their varied and interesting assignments.

这个星期，我很享受通过参观晚间自习室来观察了解同学们的学习情况。大家正在努力完成丰富又带有趣味的作业。

The students informed me that they are enjoying their classes and are happy to be back in the RDF swing of things.

Application season is upon us! Application portals are open for Fall 2021 applications, or will be soon.

Parents can help students follow our year-by-year college preparation guide.

家长可以根据我们每年的大学准备指南，给予孩子们帮助。

To begin, it is time for G12 students to write essays and to request letters of recommendation from their teachers.

* THREE-WAY CONFERENCES 家长会

Please plan to join us on campus on September 17 or 18 to visit with faculty. This is an opportunity to meet your child’s teachers and to discuss your child’s academic progress. At least one parent is strongly encouraged to attend. The registration details will be shared next week. Please watch for a follow-up message from your homeroom teacher.

* CLUB MARKET 社团招新活动

Student-led clubs are launching their enrollment campaigns next week! Students can attend our “RDFIS Club Market” and sign up to participate in student-led organizations that instruct and provide activities in Chinese and international culture, mock trial, baking, musical theater, animal protection, intellectual studies, drone “Free Fly” instruction, and much more. Many thanks to the RDF Student Government for coordinating our student organizations!

学生主导的社团也将在下周进行招新活动!同学们可以参加我们的“RDFIS社团招新活动”，报名参加学生们自己主导的社团，这些社团协会活动涵括指导和提供国内和国际文化的活动，如模拟法庭、烘焙、音乐演唱与表演、动物保护、人工智能研究、无人机“自由飞行”教学等等。非常感谢我们的学生会，协调我们学生社团的组织工作!

* OPEN DAYS 校园开放日

Do you know someone who would appreciate RDF’s culture of educating hearts and minds for beautiful family culture? If so, invite them to come see our classrooms, visit the dorms and canteen, take the admissions test, and meet administrators and teachers! Our next open days are Saturday, September 5, 9:00 AM, and Saturday, September 19, with more Open Days in the future.

* SPORTS REPORTS 体育赛事战报

Our volleyball coaches, Mr. Tippetts and Mr. Terekhno, reported:

我们的排球教练Tippetts老师和Terekhno老师报告说：

“Our volleyball teams had a very busy start to the year with practices beginning on the first day of school! Although some competitive games have been delayed or canceled out of safety concerns for the virus, we are working hard to create safe opportunities to play against other schools.

“我们的排球队开学第一天就开始了忙碌的训练!出于对预防新冠病毒的安全考虑，一些比赛被推迟或取消，但我们正在努力创造安全的与其他学校比赛的机会。

“On August 26, RDF's first athletic competition of the year took place at RDF against VMA, a great school located nearby in Dameisha. We're very lucky to be able to compete so early in the season so that we can fine-tune our practices and prepare for league games in the future.

“ 8月26日，我们的年度首场体育比赛是在瑞得福校园举行的，比赛双方分别为瑞得福学校与万科梅沙书院。我们很幸运能够在本赛季这么早就参加了比赛，这样的话，我们就可以调整训练节奏并为将来的联赛做准备。

“For our boys volleyball team, the first friendly game was a heartbreaker. Although the team demonstrated good individual skills, we couldn’t gel to achieve the necessary level of team cooperation to attain victory. Losing is a part of the game. We will learn from it and do better next time.

“对于我们的男子排球队来说，第一场友谊赛结果让人难受。尽管团队展现出良好的个人技巧，但我们无法达到联手合作取得胜利所必需的水平。输球是比赛的一部分。我们将从中总结经验教训，以便下次做得更好。

“The girls team, on the other hand, played outstanding and triumphed over the VMA girls team. Although it was the first game, our RDF girls team members worked together as though they had been playing together for years – probably because some of the actually some have! It's so great to see all of that hard work pay off in a game.”

“另一方面，女子排球队表现出色，并战胜了万科梅沙(VMA)女队。尽管这是第一场比赛，但我们的RDF女子排球队员看起来仿佛已经在一起合作过好多年了——的确可能是因为有一些同学以前在一起训练过!辛勤的训练付出终于收获成功，看到这一切都真的让人太开心。”
