欢迎大家来到新的学年，来到我们专门为11-14岁学生筹备的中学部。这是一个令人振奋的崭新开端，在这充满挑战的一年里，我们拥有了一些值得庆祝的事情。

SHENZHEN OASIS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL (SOIS)
A dedicated Middle School with a rich history
Welcome all to a new school year and to our new Middle School designed and catering exclusively for the needs of 11-14 year students. This is such an exciting new beginning which gives us something to celebrate during such a challenging year for us all. We truly appreciate and thank all our community for your continued support and commitment you have shown in supporting GOS and SOIS as we go through these difficult times. It has not been easy but we are hoping with the start of the new school year and the new middle school things will only get better. We would like to give a warm greeting to students, parents and staff new and old to GOS for the 2020/2021 school year.
学校决定为中学生筹备一个专门的校园，是对7-9年级这一阶段学习的重要性的肯定。水围校区提供了一个专门支持学生的环境，以满足他们的需求。学校的课程设置也是针对他们的学习阶段而制订的，以挑战他们的学习能力。虽然绿洲中学部来到了新校园，但作为学校基石的核心价值和指导纲领并没有改变。我们的愿景依旧是“教育、培养和启迪”。
The decision to create a dedicated campus for middle school children is a nod to the importance of this stage of schooling for students in Years 7-9. The campus at Shui Wei has been created to offer dedicated, supportive surroundings which catering purely to their needs. The curriculum has been developed to challenge them through programmes and initiatives unique to their stage of schooling. Although the campus is new for SOIS, the core values and guiding statements which have been the corner stone of Green Oasis School have not changed with the creation of Shenzhen Oasis International School. Our Vision to ‘Educate, Nurture and Inspire Excellence’ still holds true.
绿洲中学部提供双语特色融合课程，非常强调中国语言和文化。这一点与之前没有变化，随着中学校园的成立，这给我们提供了引入新的和具有挑战性科目的机会。中国数学将在绿洲中学部开设，我们知道这门课程将激发学生的学习热情，使他们未来在所有与数学相关的学科中取得好成绩。我们还为所有学生开设了戏剧课，这门课程的目的是建立自信，并培养公开演讲和展示的技巧，这些技巧不仅对进一步的学习，而且在未来的工作领域日益重要。
Shenzhen Oasis offers an enhanced National Curriculum for England with a strong emphasis on Chinese language and culture. This has not changed from before, however with a new dedicated middle school, it gives us the opportunity to introduce new and challenging subjects. Chinese Mathematics will be offered through all year levels. We know that this course will inspire the students to excel and set them on a very good path to achieving success in later years in all subjects related to mathematics. We have also introduced Drama classes for all students. This subject is designed to build confidence, public speaking and presentation skills which are gaining in importance not only for further study but in the world of work.
一个校园的品质当然还取决于工作人员，我们幸运地拥有一批来自海内外的称职员工，确保我们能给学生提供最好的机会。在写这篇文章的时候意识到少许海外教师无法进入中国，然而，我们可以为这些课程提供教学;在此期间，教学质量不会受到影响。正如我所说的，所有班级都将有一个合格的老师，校内不会有在线课程。这是我们在上个学期做出的承诺，我们很自豪今年能够继续这样做。
Of course a campus is only as good as the people that work there and we are extremely fortunate to have a dedicated group of staff from both China and abroad to ensure we can give the students the best opportunities available. At the time of writing SOIS is aware that some of our foreign teachers are unable to enter the country. We are fortunate however to be able to cover their classes with qualified staff and assure all parents that the quality of teaching will not be compromised while we wait for their arrival into China. As I stated all classes will have a qualified teacher; there will be no online classes at the school. This is a commitment we made during last semester and it is one we are proud to be able to continue this year.
我们对绿洲中学部的历史渊源感到非常自豪，2021年将庆祝学校二十年来的发展、持续创新和进步以展现绿洲风采。中学部将秉持学校的指导理念，确保满足学生的不同学习需求。
We are extremely proud of the historical beginnings of Shenzhen Oasis International School and in 2021 we will be celebrating 20 years of growth and continued innovation and improvement which defines who we are as the Oasis Schools. SOIS will continue to build on the Guiding Statements established for the Oasis Schools ensuring it caters for the distinctive needs of middle school students.
